Island Fever Diving and Adventures was founded in 2000. It first began in partnership with Clay's Dive Shop and provided The PADI dive education curriculum. In 2001, Clay Culbert and his family decided to move on to another location, and Island Fever purchased his inventory and expanded into retail. The company continued to grow and began providing equipment services such as suit repair, visual inspections, and hydro testing. In 2003, the company once again moved to expand by promoting Sitka as a dive destination and providing dive and snorkeling excursions. In 2005, it formed a marketing agreement with Sitka Bike and Hike, providing snorkeling tours to adventurous cruise ship passengers. In 2006, the company purchased Sitka Bike and Hike and formed Island Fever Diving and Adventures, LLC. It is now Sitka's only PADI Dive Center and Adventure Company providing education, excursion, services, and retail. And Elvis has managed to follow us where ever we go.
