Dive Sites in Sitka are truly unlimited. Being on an Island in Southeast Alaska really has its advantages! Wall diving is by far the best. Although Sitka does not have any penetratable wrecks near by, there are many small wrecks to explore. And the marine life is unbelievable. Every inch of the ocean floor is covered in life and color. There are Sea Stars every where, some stars are four feet across. You will see anemones, bull kelp, crabs, kelp greenling's, sponges, tube worms, rock fish and sea stars on every dive. Pacific reds, wolf eels, nudibranchs, sea pens, salmon, jellies, and sealions are seen regularly. With so much life and so many dive sites available, even on rougher water days you can usually find a place tucked away from the wind to dive.
